Kapit Trip - Day 07 - My last day at Mujong...

My last day at my cousin's school. As early as 7am me and a few other staff were already at the jetty as the only longboat will depart for Kapit. My cousin and a number of other staff waves a good bye.

..another view of the jetty where my cousin and the rest of the staff sent us..for me it is a touching sight as i don not know whether i will ever had any chance to see them and this place again...

..puffing some smoke..

...magnificent view of the Mujong river...

..

..we make our stop here at a floating grocery store, to top up the fuel

..dogs which greet us..

..and look at the price...RM16 (US$4.50) per one gallon

...

..then we continue our journey...

...a few longhouses on our way...

..longhouse

..rapids area..

..you need to be extremely know your way in overhere...

..margin of error is only two feets...

..visible rock foundation...

..rough river..

..another floating grocery store...

..lonely tree..

...cargo ship waiting its logs...

...intersection between Mujong and Baleh river...

..and here at the intersection, exists a road system which connect the area to Kapit, so part of the passenger from the longboat decided to have a try on the land transport...

..they disembark here and use the waiting van...

...so we continue our boat journey to Kapit with less load...

..logging base station...

..logging camp living quarters..

..

..another school by the river of Baleh...

..coal mine..

...express boat races its way to Belaga...

..a common scene here...

..Water Board which supplies treated water to Kapit area...

..police station..

..view of Kapit town from the river..

..getting near...

..jetty for personnel boat..

...then finally arrived at Kapit...two and half hours from my cousins school at Mujong... (going upriver took three while downstream time is cut by half an hour)..
